The Brescia Nord Est Inter-municipal Library System participate in the project Life Safeguard by helping to spread an ecological culture of concrete safeguard. Starting from October 2022, the library system in collaboration with the Lacus cultural association has proposed a traveling exhibition to its libraries to bring children and young people closer to the themes of Sustainable Development and the 2030 Agenda of the UN.
The Northeast Library System Brescia was established in the summer of 2002 with the aim of:
strengthen the existing library and documentary services in the territorial area of Valle Sabbia, Alto Garda Bresciano and Valtenesi; coordinate the acquisition, conservation, protection, enhancement and public use of the book and documentary assets owned by the libraries belonging to the System;
promote cultural activities related to book and documentary assets, with their knowledge e
enhancement, according to the aims of the library institutions.
The System serves a territory with an extension of about 1,000 sq km and with about 123,000 inhabitants e
comprehends 43 Municipalities, of which 26 belonging to the Valle Sabbia area, 9 to the Alto Garda Bresciano Park area and 8 to the Valtenesi area. 40 out of 43 active library services are members, automated and pertaining to the Brescia Library Network (RBB). The library system has its own director, its own cataloging center with a cataloger that deals with the cataloging of the book (ancient / modern) and multimedia material of the related libraries.
