In December 2021, the Life Safeguard project was launched environmental empowerment campaign in favor of the Brescia side of Lake Garda which has received funding under the European Program Life. Primary objective stated is the dissemination of an environmental culture able to translate into sustainable choices and concrete safeguarding actions of the Garda area, involving all the main players.
An ambitious challenge that of Life SALVAGuARDiA which will bear fruit only by becoming a choral action shared by all those subjects who, in one form or another, inhabit, transform and live the territory. Precisely for this reason, the establishment of a Safeguard Committee who will have the task of guiding and connecting the many souls of the project. The Committee was officially constituted on March 22, 2022, with the aim of involving everyone in different ways major players territorial: public administration, companies, third sector, schools, tourism.
The following organizations participate in the Committee: Province of Brescia; Garda Uno Spa; Social Garda; Acque Bresciane srl; Legambiente Lombardia; Lake Garda Lombardy Consortium; Lacus Association, Garda Sustainability Festival, Garda Community; Gal2020, ABA - Federalberghi Brescia; Morene del Garda School Network.
Within this framework, CAUTO, the implementing body, will be the pivot of connection between the different realities and will do so thanks to its decades of experience in management environmental services And Community services. Therefore services that, on the one hand, reduce waste, waste and consumption; on the other, they trigger concrete paths integrated sustainability in which the protection of the environment also becomes the driving force of cooperative and inclusive processes.
Through the implementation of various and synergistic project actions, a territorial activation model able on one side of raise awareness citizenship with respect to the objectives of the European Green Deal, on the other to plan and implement actions to concretely reduce the environmental impact times a mitigate the effects of climate change in progress in the Garda area due to various anthropogenic factors including: excessive urbanization and the intensive impact on territorial resources due to tourism, agricultural and production activities.
